Teaching Methods

I teach primarily Suzuki style. Although I am not a certified Suzuki teacher, my 13 years of private Suzuki lessons is what I know best! Ear training is of utmost importance, however, I attempt to familiarize students with note recognition at an appropiate time, depending upon his/her age. I am not opposed to other method books, but find I only use these with older students. "All for Strings" is my prefered series. Suzuki books work very well for young beginners. Although I love to teach all ages, I am currently teaching one class a week for ages 6-12. I will add more group lessons as I see interest. Please contact me with any further questions.

Why Group Lessons? After many years of teaching private lessons to all ages, I noticed that group interaction is important for learning and continued interest in the activity. When given the option of a group lesson, attendance was poor. I am reversing the options. Group is what you sign up for. Private lessons are optional. Currently, time constraints (raising a young family) make it hard for me to teach many private lessons.
